Hiromi Goto was born in Japan and immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of three. She won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize and was co-winner of the Japan-Canada Book Award for her first novel, A Chorus of Mushrooms. Her other novels are The Water of Possibility, a book for young adults and, most recently, The Kappa Child, a magic realist novel which won the James Triptee, Jr. Award. Goto writes and teaches in Vancouver. Presented by the School of English and Theatre Studies
